The First (and Hopefully Last) Post

I have finally purchased hosting and have a new blog up at alexwideman.com. Check it out!

Thanks for clicking on a link to this site! I know this because there is no way you found me through Google. No content + brand new blog = 0 organic visitors. The truth is, I recently purchased this domain and decided to get a head start on the link building... even though it was parked by GoDaddy. I knew that it was a dumb idea, but I just can't help myself!

I hope you aren't too disappointed that this blog isn't chock-full of rich, link-baiting content. This blogger setup will never live up to that description, but I hopethat this blog will become a go-to resource for aspiring web developers once it is transferred to Wordpress and hosted properly. That being said, if you own a Wordpress blog or site, please let me know what hosting service you are using by either leaving a comment or voting on the poll in the sidebar. I have researched many different hosting companies and many appear to be too similar for me to choose one over the other. The reason why I am so hesitant is that I have very limited funding at my disposal. Oh, and I also want to host a MediaWiki project so if anyone has any advice regarding that, please share.

As the title explicitly details, this is my personal blog about websites, search engine optimization and online marketing. Unlike many other web developers and passive income "gurus", I did not "sell my first ebook at the age of six" or "quit my job and started making a full time passive income before I left high school". I'm not a successful developer. I'm simply going to write about what I am currently working on, what I'm learning and what is working for me. (or not working at all...)

Thanks again for stopping by. I will not be putting up an RSS feed because this site is only temporary, but please follow me on Twitter if you are interested: @alexwideman.
